The Lacy Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission to enrich every Lacy Elementary student’s learning experience by funding additional teaching positions not provided by the state budget. Since its inception in 2021, The Lacy Foundation has worked with students, parents, grandparents, teachers, neighborhood families, community leaders and generations of Lacy alumni to raise funds in support of this mission.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the Lacy Foundation was able to fund 12 teaching positions consistent with Principal MacGovern's vision. These positions include a literacy support specialist, a math and literacy tutor, a full time (K - 5) Spanish teacher and enough Instructional Assistants to provide intervention and enrichment to all grade levels.
There is ongoing communication with students, teachers, and community to tailor this vision to the specific needs each year.
