Kelli Wilson has been working at Lacy for the past 11 years. She is a second grade teacher assistant for Mrs. Acree. Kelli’s contribution is consistently adding that extra layer of support, whether is be supporting the students with one-on-one instruction, working with small groups, or simply being that extra set of eyes, hands and feet in the classroom. She loves working with the kids and giving them that extra bit of attention to help them succeed.
Kelli and her husband, JJ, have been married for 25 years, spending the last 11 of those years in Raleigh. They have 2 children who are now both juniors, one at University of South Carolina and the other at Broughton High School. Allie and Davis are both proud graduates of Lacy Elementary!
Jenni Borowiak is in her second year at Lacy as an Enrichment Teacher. She became a teacher because she loves helping children discover those “I can do it” moments, when they can finally conquer a challenging skill.
Jenni has a Master of Science in Reading from SUNY Potsdam. She grew up in Rochester, NY, spent some time living in Pittsburgh, PA, and moved to the Raleigh area in 2007. She and her husband have three children: a freshman at Duke, a sophomore in high school, and a fifth grader. In her spare time, she loves to hang with her family, scrapbook, travel, support the (sigh) Buffalo Bills, try new recipes, and READ!
Jennifer King is new to Lacy this year as a second grade teacher assistant with Ms. Hoehle. Jennifer loves children and the spirit of working together to learn something new or solve a problem. She is inspired watching students put the pieces together and loves to celebrate their accomplishments.
Jennifer has lived in Raleigh since she was 8 years old. She has two sons (and one niece) at Lacy. She loves nature, her houseplants, learning to play the piano, and reading everything!

Clare Dorn has been teaching Spanish at Lacy for the past eight years. Clare feels learning Spanish naturally lends itself to supporting student growth in the homeroom classroom in most areas, including math. Students have to think critically and globally in Spanish class which builds on and supports their curriculum. All students in grades 2 – 5 go to the Spanish special once a week.
Clare is originally from Norfolk, VA and received her Masters in Education from the University of Virginia. She has her husband moved to Raleigh 14 years ago. She and her husband have 2 children, ages 13 and 10. They enjoy spending time together, traveling, and going to the beach during the summers.
Tracey McDowell is in her 10th year teaching at Lacy and is currently a Literacy Specialist for kindergarten and second grade. During her time at Lacy, she has taught Spanish, worked in the Lion's Den and served as a teacher assistant in the second grade. She was inspired to teach after having children of her own, and loves the smile and look in the children's eyes when they learn something new.
Tracey was born and raised in Raleigh, and graduated from NCSU with Spanish Degree. Prior to becoming a teacher, she worked in Orthopedics for 13 years. She and her husband have 2 high-school aged sons. She enjoys walking her dog, running, cooking, and tutoring Spanish.
Heather York is a second grade teacher assistant with Ms. Barefoot. Heather enjoys watching the children learn and grow in confidence each day. She strives to recognize each child's individual strengths and they each experience success every day.
Heather has been a Lacy mom for 10 years, with the youngest of her two children in fifth grade this year. She enjoys tennis, reading, and spending time at the beach with her family - and yellow lab, Tucker!
Marla Turlington is new to Lacy this year as a second grade teacher assistant with Ms. Ingallinera. She works with small groups, reinforcing grade level learning and advancement in the classroom, while also providing administrative support so that teachers may provide more personalized classroom attention. She enjoys watching young minds grow and fostering students' imagination and love of learning.
A San Antonio, TX native, Ms. Turlington has lived and worked in many parts of the world including a New York City theater, Stanford University School of Medicine and for a designer in Milan. She has been married 26 years and has three children who all attended Wake County Public Schools: a son at Davidson, a high school daughter, and a middle school son (and former Lacy Lion!). In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and serving as a Scout leader for Boys and Girls Troops.
